Car Jacking Schemes to Watch for

Protect Yourself From Car Jacking

Here is a list of suggestions that will help you avoid being a victim of carjacking.  These suggestions are actually based on part of an article written by Chris E. McGoey from his excellent site at crimedoctor.com

  • Always park in a well lit area away from walls or bushes and close to the attendant booth.
  • Pay special attention in underground garages. If you see anyone hanging around, just sitting in cars or doing anything that makes you uncomfortable- leave immediately and only return with an escort.
  • Listen to your instincts.
  • Look under and around your car and approach from the passenger side with your keys in your hand.
  • Get in quickly and immediately lock the door and drive away immediately.
  • Do not sit in your car in the parking lot unless you're in a well lit and very public place.
  • Teach your children to get into a car quickly and close the doors
  • Drive with your doors locked and in many places with your windows rolled up.
  • If you're stopped in traffic, leave some room in front of your car so you can move if you must.
  • Be suspicious if you're involved in a minor accident in a remote place or involving young males.  You do not need to open your car - simply call the police.
  • Always have a cell phone in your car.
  • Confronted by an armed carjacker - get out and give up the car, your keys and/or your money.
  • Get out of the car- drop the keys or throw them and run away.
  • If you're forced to drive consider a minor accident near a busy intersection to attract attention.
  • Report incidents to the police, without exception.

*BEWARE OF PAPER IN THE BACK WINDOW OF YOUR VEHICLE -  NEW WAY TO DO CAR JACKING THIS IS NOT A JOKE*

Heads up everyone! Please, keep this circulating...
You walk across the parking lot, unlock your car and get inside. You start the engine and shift into Reverse. When you look into the rearview mirror to back out of your parking space, you notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle of the rear window. So, you  shift into Park, unlock your doors, and jump out of
your car to remove that  paper (or whatever it is) that is obstructing your view.

When you reach the back of your car, that is when  the car jackers appear out of nowhere, jump into your car and take off. They practically mow you down as they speed off in your car. And guess what, ladies? I bet your purse is still in the car. So now the car jacker has your car, your home  address, your money, and your keys. Your home and your whole identity are now compromised!

BEWARE OF THIS NEW SCHEME THAT IS NOW BEING USED....*

If you see a piece of paper stuck to your back window, just drive away. Remove the paper later. And be thankful that you read this e-mail.
I hope you will forward this to friends and family, especially to women. A purse contains all kinds of personal information and identification
documents, and you certainly do NOT want this to fall into the wrong hands.
